Unitree G1 Firmware Update Adds Training Mode - RoboStore

The future of robot training just took a major step forward. Unitree has released a new Training Mode for the G1 Humanoid Robot with Firmware 1.4.5, giving developers, educators, and researchers the ability to create custom movement sequences in seconds through the Unitree Explore App.

This new feature removes the need for complex coding or multi step workflows. You simply guide the robot through a motion, save it, and run it again whenever needed. The result is a faster and more intuitive way to prototype behaviors, test new ideas, and explore humanoid robot capabilities.

We shared a quick demo video to show how fast this new Training Mode works in real time. Anyone working in robotics, automation, AI development, STEM education, or advanced R and D can now create custom robot behaviors without touching a line of code.

What You Will See in the Video

  • How Training Mode functions on the Unitree G1
  • How to capture, save, and replay custom motions
  • Key additions included in Firmware 1.4.5
  • A live walkthrough inside the Unitree Explore App
  • Why this update matters for developers, researchers, and educators

The Unitree G1 is currently one of the most widely adopted humanoid robots in the world. With Firmware 1.4.5, it becomes even more powerful for rapid prototyping, behavior training, human robot interaction studies, robotics learning, and applied automation testing.

Why Training Mode Matters

Training Mode opens the door for faster experimentation in robotics labs, classrooms, and AI research environments. It allows users to test ideas immediately, iterate quickly, and explore new robot behaviors with minimal setup. This creates a more efficient workflow for robotics development and strengthens the value of the G1 as a tool for both education and advanced industry projects.

If you are building in robotics, AI, automation, STEM programs, or general humanoid robot development, this update brings a new level of flexibility to the Unitree G1.
